Netflix's "Champion": Climax and Wrap Up Episodes 6-8
Our discussion begins discussing episode 6 where Beres, Aria and Vita goes to Jamaica for a funeral. The filming in Jamaica was absolutely PERFECT with the show's attention to detail, highlighting the authentic portrayal of Jamaican culture, from the scenic beauty of the island to the significance of traditions such as the nine-night.
Why almost every Caribbean funeral comes with drama? This episode has secrets exposed and they impact the dynamics between the characters, revealing hidden tensions and unspoken dreams. A significant moment occurs between Vita and her mother, Aria, unearthing the sacrifices Aria made for her music career. The conversation between them hints at underlying jealousy and unresolved emotions within their mother-daughter relationship.
Bosco learns the truth about Beres and Beres' desperation leaves the last episode with a cliffhanger.
We hope that there will be a second season and the continuation of the compelling narrative that "Champion" has begun.

A Breadfruit Media Production
Welcome back and you're tuned in to the Champion Podcast, not the official Champion Podcast for the Champion Series, but a podcast that's called Reels and Rhythms. That is Champion, brought to you by Carry On Friends in partnership with the Style and the Vibes and Breadfruit Media. I am Kery Ann and my co-host with the most is Mikaela Yaman, and we are talking about I don't know why I made this song like Bounty, we are, you know, yellow, shallow, all of these things. We are talking about the Series on Netflix, champion, and we are going to wrap up our review of the Series in this episode. Beer with me. We're going to try and just pack it all in.
Speaker 2:Beer one and beer spoilers and all of this.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and so the reason why we are kicking off like we have tried cover episode 6798, episode 6 or a big episode touched on the airport Right, they go to Jamaica. I love images, videos of when they play in a land. There's nothing like when I play in a land. Well, they'm Lana Kinston, but Lana Kinston on our mobile, when you touch the punch, jamaica is just like yeah, yeah it feels like home.
Speaker 1:You know, feel like home. It is home. Yeah, you understand. Then reach Jamaica and then get picked up at the airport, then drive up in the hills. Oh my gosh, let me tell you Location, location, location, location.
Speaker 2:Chef's kiss on the location, energy vibe, everything about that episode was perfect, perfection, perfection, yeah, perfect, just perfect the way that they captured the scenery driving to you know what is known as Barris's childhood home, and how they captured just the entire essence, like you could like, as they were pulling up. You can smell the fire burn. You can smell somebody and make some chicken or some food and say, run, go out of the shop, go get a key, a syringe, drive Like. That's like exactly what happens.
Speaker 1:As soon as Barris to drive up, send out the people with the money.
Speaker 2:You know how that. You know how that go. You know if you're coming from foreign and we call anywhere UK, canada, us, foreign. If you are coming from foreign, everybody assumes that you have money. So if you just shell it out early, we make them know, say if I'm still at the champion.
Speaker 1:In the same vein after he sent out the money. So, junior, come here, you get the will. Messer blows the skirt.
Speaker 2:No, he must ask for the will immediately, like, like he did plan, as soon as the body just dead, as soon as it buried in the cellar, the property there.
Speaker 1:What a property it is. Yeah, so, anyway. So they get to this very big property Co and you know some dairy, just a big house and it's like, feels like a traditional house, you know, not one that's built to be the stone and concrete and Americanized, but the one with the louvers, all of these things. And we get to meet his aunt and they're in this big house and you know they had some elements of a nine night, including like a Gary kind of performance, and for me personally the Gary is kind of where the older people them use like kitchen. You know appliances to make music, so like the creator and a knife and dochi cover, all these things. You know part cover, all these things to make music as part of the nine nights.
Speaker 1:But sometimes it's longer if the person dead or far in and the body have to come down. The nine nights might be a couple of weeks, you know, but not really happened. When they land the next morning, Vita Gostrual and she woke up on Junior who, Junior's Uncle, Junior, Did you immediately think what was going to happen? No, no, no, no, no. Me know that something went up and because of the will, the way all Junior responds yeah, yeah, so me know that the will, the will plan and go work out the way a very stinky tag will work out. Me did already know that Junior went and go get the will right Because we all Junior respond to him, Because Junior know right.
Speaker 2:But also basketball didn't go, so it was Aria Vita.
Speaker 1:Vita right. So Vita, go find our Uncle Junior to make some breakfast in the bush. I feel vibe in my. Do some run a boat? Vibe right Going to the bush, teach our all for cut breadfruit, make Aki and Southfish. The peel green banana are planted in our whatever it is, and then when she go back home, you know Aria in our wife, vita and Shas are put on our wallabies and they might touch the road Right but berries are liest of our clots.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they like shine up like skin sauce off she are used.
Speaker 1:She off, use the skin sauce off, because mosquito, mosquito Right.
Speaker 2:The only thing from that person there are the mosquito destroyer.
Speaker 1:Listen, you got to make eye enough. You just know you forget. Mosquito destroyer now bring normally perfume, because your body smell alone Attract the mosquito. Then fresh meat, zoom, zoom, you know, type thing. So she goes, she goes into the kitchen for help our grand aunt this is very aunt in the kitchen, and yet you self useful Right.
Speaker 1:And so she kind of help the help in there and the mataka and I know all the album come bought and you know Vita say is this juniors mom? Because then you know the way of Vita ask a question. In hindsight she has a junior mom. Look young door Right and cause you see Ciciguera. Look same time junior come in and say come on, come on the matata road. And I love that when junior and Vita touch road the matata road is not a pretty version Then I go through the ends, I don't make a lie.
Speaker 2:What did his car say? It had a why pray, why pray? Yeah, it was so good, yep, why pray?
Speaker 1:So we just got to love it. I'm laughing because you know much taximon minimum name but because the car name, the puny top, you know it's not a finger, it's finger they call. So you know Vita and junior there they're, you know juniors taking his niece about the biggest figure hangout or whatever, and at some point them got it done. And this is where we see in this village some girl are very stupid pamper and so you see all of the dancing and pamper on stage and chichin ching and all of those they. So they had a really good night.
Speaker 1:I was dancing in that scene, in which video your brother in law not dancing? Tell me which? Which tell me. Just do not tell me the one that he's dancing, just tell me the one where, oh, he's not in that, because he's in everything.
Speaker 2:It might be dancing Right.
Speaker 1:So big up to your brother in law.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes, so they won stage. And and junior convinces Vita to get up on the stage and freestyle. She got a decent job, yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, all right. You know she thought both says she far in Pitney and Ray Tate and she going out British accent and ting and ting. So it was cool.
Speaker 2:It was nice to see yeah.
Speaker 1:And then this is where she she called Femi and she asked him to be our manager. And Femi said yeah, I can manage you if you perform at the Jamaica something tomorrow. And she was just like but it's tomorrow, and she's like all right, I'll do it, and she to perform at the show. And she, you know, our parents were there and they did a, I guess, a decent performance, but her and junior, her and junior that perform, and yo, it's so funny because that's kind of when I picked up something like I'm like junior, look young, you know that like.
Speaker 2:And then because he was asking for Bosco, and he mentioned Bosco again and I'm just like, why, like, even if it's your nephew, like you're not that, like you're not that close to him, but yeah, go on.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but from the. That's why it goes back to remember when I said Vita in other album said this is junior mother, because junior mother had to be young. But also I wouldn't be surprised because Minou and North Oldman at Jamaica have hit me with young girl. So and I like say it's out of the ordinary, right? So I wasn't thinking I wasn't thinking it was out of the ordinary. That can happen.
Speaker 2:It can happen, but the response that aunt Sissy gave something was hiding. Something was hiding. I wasn't sure what that was, that was the one time that you think something, and that was in the whole entire series.
Speaker 1:Yes, something was hiding, but it wasn't clear. So they, the kids, were performing. And, and you know, while Vita on the the the stage, barry school, yes, she's a champion with a champion, they're my champion business.
Speaker 2:Just watch it now, and it's the first time I see her in that, in that it's like when she get to Jamaica she get more brave and she just stop your foolish boots up, and you know she feel tough and then at the same time, this is happening like Vita and her mom have not spoke since the the blow up at the fashion show, so she's not going to be able to see Vita on why Aria was upset, that Vita did the song and why she was so upset, so her going to see Vita perform outside of that. This is where she's kind of seeing Vita in her own element because she's performing her own music.
Speaker 1:So they go home and Vita and Aria have a conversation and Vita go in our mother room and Aria said I thought you came in here to apologize, and she's almost like fill up. And the mother because you needed to ask me permission to do the song. So in this episode is where we see the character development of Aria and we hear the story that the video was done and as she was about to blow up which is why I don't think that video was ever released right, it felt like things were going in that direction. Until she find out she pregnant with Bosco, she put to our career in a barrister and she said I'm going to go back to after she, have Bosco make she go back and perform. And she said no, berries, take her over Panahil and show her what is now Aria's restaurant, and she's been at Aria's restaurant for the last 24 years. So berries did not let her revive her career or pick up where she left on.
Speaker 2:And she said to Aria I'm only telling you this because if you don't be careful, this is what's happening to you or something that's going to happen to Aria, to be honest, because she really was like she's going in to hug her mom because she's hearing the story for the first time.
Speaker 2:Right, she's hearing about her mom's childhood, her mom's dreams, as she's sharing them and she wants to embrace her mom. She's always wanted that embrace with her mom and her mom kind of pushes her off and say I don't need your pity, you know, I'm just telling you that she's really enjoying her daughter's performance and they're in completely, totally different. But again it's. It's Aria coming off of her daughter performing her song, her never getting the career that she wanted, seeing her daughter on stage and people liking it and enjoying so like she really enjoyed her daughter's performance and her career that she never had. So she's coming off of that energy after seeing Vita perform and rather than come down off that anger, she almost leans into Vita as if it's Vita's fault and then go take her with Mary's like wait, wait, wait.
Speaker 1:Also, I think there's a layer of everyone is like I'm not sure that level of affection to basketball Vita doesn't get that mother daughter type you know affection. And then on top of this she's she clearly in our feelings, feel away and let's just say jealous of her daughter and then cut to miss a slip.
Speaker 1:She must have said I don't think like you must have no disturb stop, stop, stop and then it cuts cause we don't see if anything progresses from there. It's the morning at the funeral and Mary's just walk out and I'm reading the eulogy and I said, well, I made it plan for reading the eulogy. And Mary said I already print up the program and I'm reading the eulogy and Mary said Mary's the way I'm.
Speaker 2:I'm just a dismiss junior.
Speaker 1:I'm like why are dismiss Junior? I'm a. I'm an outside picnic like in Chit Pan here, mother, or something that's. That's the energy.
Speaker 1:I was kind of feeling, mm hmm, they go to the funeral and come back and they sit on the table You're Junior. Where they will Junior, back out the envelope and say see, you're Junior. And in this conversation, by the way, junior's performance, that character, great performance, like great performance. And so it is in this scene where Junior basically tell you now I'm not in your name, not a pony, because Papa left everything to me, because my father left me and beat at the first on a pickup and I'm like Junior, I'm like the my name is Junior.
Speaker 1:Um, yeah, and Junior must be. What is it? Four months older than Vasco? Are our younger Four or six age?
Speaker 2:Yeah, four or six months, but I think usually usual this is my assumption Usually the firstborn son is named Junior and this is full name and they call him Junior. It doesn't say or them.
Speaker 1:Just call him Junior. They might just call him Junior, but it didn't say it's in a, it's in a future episode where, where Vita was telling somebody that they're like maybe four or six months apart.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's not in this episode. So when it busts out, when, when Vita asks him, he says I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I get up slow and I'm something, see him See him. She just walks slow, just pack up her things and I say, we then leave, and then she auntie, see, see must be coming to bed.
Speaker 2:I think it's still. You and I are not from the same generation. And this is he's like what he picked you, didn't he? As if that was some prize, what she called that's why you eat bad. She really managed to let that come out our mode. Aunt Sissy, if she all, I just leave her now.
Speaker 1:No, you know why she said that? Because she complains to see on Sissy something like this aunt Sissy said pot Kekla, yeah, yeah, so she leaves Jamaica, and berries and June. I catch up, but again it's a secrecy and not saying anything. And junior said it. I gave you Time to tell them and you never told them that I existed. Like 20 something years, yeah, like 24, right, so 24 years, 23 years, you get. You had a lot of opportunity to tell the family that I'm your son and instead you still met them, feel like, say, made it uncle.
Speaker 1:Yeah and for him. It's like you know, in that revelation you rewind back to the beginning of the episode and he was like yo, let us I try spend some time with my sister, yeah right, my family that's here and that's why he was kept asking me he's like yo, what a nice bus, go to there.
Speaker 2:Because it's his Sibling. Those are his siblings and he's always and he knows that they're his siblings but they don't know. So he has to put on this entire front, like as a child one You're not with your biological parents because essentially you've been left behind in Jamaica. And then to you know the truth, but for 24 years plus, or at least 20 something years that's secret when, whenever, like we don't know how he found out the father clearly took care of him as his own, but you know he knew on, sissy knew. You don't know who else in the neighborhood knew all of this, because the woman may assume she must live in a Jamaica, or maybe she doesn't, I don't know.
Speaker 1:I feel like everybody know is only area and the family, while they were far and don't know because they don't go to Jamaica. They don't go back to Jamaica very regularly. Yes, so they all know. So that was one explosive episode and it's really the first time you see berries get put in I'm place. You know, like junior put him in I'm place because he tried to raise him. I'm not doing. And the young you just kind of Bop on, will him?
Speaker 1:I say he's off my youth, and him say you know, it might be the last time you step foot in a day, adia, but I think the overarching when he said just trying to come back here you know, but also what me and Nico was talking about was, like, yo Berris is a really hard man because, at all costs for him to have this facade and this persona of this champion name, he, he thought his father was gonna give him, or will him, this property, because what he was gonna do is sell off the property and kick Off the people, him off at a property, because he thought that's what was coming to him, and so that that then should give you a sense of the implication, because he was banking on what he thought was gonna be money, yeah, that he would get from selling the property that he thought he was going to get in Jamaica. And so episode 7 is where we are now, when everybody come back from Jamaica.
Speaker 2:And it's very telling the relationship, how his father perceived him and who he perceived himself to be and how he portrayed himself. It flashes back to his childhood and you see him and his father. He gets into a fight with somebody at school or something like that. I mean, father is is known in the community, so yo, you know, touch my son, so I'm got him, got it the youth father, ours and, and box up the father and say, keep your picnic in line. And then come back and tell young berries say, you know, if you make nobody Disrespect you, then disrespect you, then disrespect the champion name. And so that's where he gets some of that.
Speaker 2:But I think he's never. He was never able to actually live up to the reputation that his father had, and so he's cowardly, taking it upon himself to to seem like this big man, like him no things, and him not off it no things. And he was a big man in England and he really just isn't. In my opinion, he's a facade of his own Imagination and we see that for the first time in this episode.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and even in episode seven, as it's starting, bosco picks him up at the airport because he's now back in London and In a female head is just like going back to to. You know, business as usual, because we have champion Crohn and rare, rare, rare and whatever. And in this episode he said something to Don, both with a weird point of money From Jamaica. And here here, don, is this money making an appearance soon, because he's exactly Because we need it? But? But we know he's lying to Don that this money is not making an appearance because he don't have to To shilling two pins to whatever. We're up together. So this is where we're escalating Vita gets Femi as our manager and Femi set her up in our nice apartment that has a studio built in. And as soon as she's circling our apartment, who appears? Blink, you guessed it la ramp. I'm already. Oh my gosh, it's just like what am I about? Key, which?
Speaker 2:is why I miss a. How does he have a key for her apartment? I think it's his apartment, and Femi set her up with a place like.
Speaker 1:I don't know, I didn't like it.
Speaker 2:I didn't like it either. I think that that was some sort of Clot between Femi and and if already, laurent.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Laurent was uh and family there.
Speaker 2:That whole situation was too convenient. Yeah way too convenient.
Speaker 1:There were two Licas, fen garleys, some Lica, oh, but master ting, I go on right there. So, so, vita, just you could have sitting. Look for Vita, face that you know like because she's surprised, because she thought she thought she was getting a space of our own. Um, what else happened? So this is when aria come home, I realized say oh, lennox gone, like him, clear out, him, disappear. He aren't coming back. He does, he was like hasta la vista, but we don't bat the ring everything.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm gonna expect anything less.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and I was like good for you, lennox, good for you, um, what else happened in a seven?
Speaker 2:There's been basketball, so they're having this Um Um champion crown launch party. Oh yeah, that's where don, where don? Let's? Bosco know that his father oversees all of his financial assets and everything really goes to him. They have an interaction. He she's assets. She's like did you look at the papers that you signed? Did you have them taken to a lawyer? And he said no, it's my dad. So it's the first time that Bosco is learning that his dad is essentially taking advantage of him, his musical talent, and really taking his money as he is about to go on stage for this launch party and he just leaves, and so the record execs are there, who they got the imprint through, and he kind of disappears. So by this point we're surprised that Bosco is even hold. Am I willing to get a buy like a string, Because they might like every he's not holding it together.
Speaker 2:Well he's not holding it together, but he's still able. He's just going through the motions of things that he's supposed to do. But you see him, he tries to kind of like shake it off and get back to business, and every time he does that he's met with some sort of resistance, and this one, probably, is the last straw. So he ends up disappearing and nobody can find him. He doesn't respond to Vita. He doesn't respond to his mom, don, nobody.
Speaker 1:A little bit of poetic, you know. Like you just say, my put up resistance. So in my head, guess what's that? Play the real berries putting up a resistance. I'm gonna work it out.
Speaker 2:Yes yes. The real berries, the real sir berries.
Speaker 1:Berry spurred harmon.
Speaker 2:And then I think we see Vita's kind of coming into her own. She's up for a big award, but they still haven't. No one has really heard from Bosco, but they're still kind of going through the motions we talked about why nobody not here from Bosco?
Speaker 1:Why, yeah, you ever talked about that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he disappeared. Why, but why did he disappear?
Speaker 1:Yeah, you never tell a partner with a picnic.
Speaker 2:Oh, yes, yes, yes, so we thought the dad was the last straw, but I think he knew about the daughter a little bit earlier. No, it's after that where? No, remember, because it was in the club at the fashion show where Vita says that the girlfriend should have never done that. She should have been honest with you, or was it this one? It was this episode, because Bosco shows up to a photo shoot, right.
Speaker 1:Vita thinks that he's upset because of that. When he was upset about the money-teeth-in-thing and he's like what? And cars are all commotion at our photo shoot, and that's when she got over to Chanel. Then Bosco said the little old fire stick did catch, but it was an accident. It was one slip up, Mark. It was one slip up, it just happened at one time.
Speaker 2:And Mark was just like I need a minute. I need a minute, yeah, like we're still going to New York, but I need a minute and I'm gone. And so Bosco was like no, it wasn't a mistake. Like he's thinking that him and his baby mama is about to get back together because they have this connection. And you can tell she's a little confused. She's not really sure what she wants to do. I feel like the old room sweet kind of goods. She kind of get like an excitement in our life and then maybe after thinking about it, she's just like maybe I should go. And so he probably just feels like everybody is against him and he needed to disappear. So we really don't know where he is by the end of this episode. We just know that he's not.
Speaker 1:No, we know where he is. The episode unfolded to where he is. He took the daughter to an ice cream shop. The name's to the police Mark Gokau, Police basically do an Amber alert and they look at girl missing Because Bosco took the daughter out of the house. Carrie, I'm going to get ice cream, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then nobody can find him. Kazina answer, and then he goes live and he goes live on a roof and basically Mehmet and Chanel know where he is because that's what they did as kids on that roof and that's how they find him. But as they go, the police then come and so Bosco run off and gone hide and from then on Bosco disappears.
Speaker 1:Some time has passed and Bosco disappear and it's very interesting here again how the relationship that he has with his daughter, and so you really can see the level of isolation and what Bosco is struggling with, All the people who he's had around him and depended on In his mind they're not the same people, but they've all been living their lives for him and they've just made decisions to kind of live their lives for him and now, when he needs them the most, they're not there, because it's like boy, what a cry wolf. They're always showing up for him when something is happening, and so they're just like. I've just had enough of this. So in my mind it doesn't say that in future episode, the last episode which we're going to cover, you see that he makes a decision that I just need to get away from all of these people, and so it looked like a month, weeks, months, Bosco disappear.
Speaker 2:The show notes says six months Says a good while.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he disappeared. Nobody can find him. Vita they send Vice Nota text message not now and go through. Nobody can find him Meanwhile and I mean I think that was good for him. So we're covering 678. So it's a machine a little bit Me am a bad chatting machine, but anyway the Jamaicans will understand it's all mashed up together.
Speaker 1:Going back to the friend right, the friend from prison, we can see that again, this aspect of this character which we didn't expect he was able to go jam on this bridge, play a sphere while, and he was able to create music. And the guy produced the track. He was just like nah, that's not it Like that's the old Bosco, you need a new grittia. Me feel like you in the channel, say, channel DMX. You never said that what he was trying to channel, that urr, you know type thing.
Speaker 1:And you see Bosco making a track and the track is fired, it's uploaded to what would look like a sound cloud, but it's not a sound cloud. Everybody hear the song, the song is hot and it's like he disses his father on the track and the record label is like Barris, where is Bosco? He has a new track out. It's not on our label and in this track, he's suggesting that you stolen his money. If Bosco is not recording for us, you need to give us about the money. And this is where Barris bottom is going twep, twep, because he needs to give the money right.
Speaker 2:Three, one again, and then Barris. I'm going twep, twep.
Speaker 1:Because he's like I don't have it, I don't got it right. And in my friends I don't know if this is the episode where it come in, but they were like well, we have an option. Like so Donald's like you know if he has mental issues.
Speaker 2:Right, we can, you know, spin this in the public in completely different ways so that he so essentially they're they. They offer this option to put out in the media that he's not well and he has some mental issues that he needs to kind of rectify. So they would put him up into some sort of program for a little bit. It will tarnish his image a bit and it would kind of rein him in from there. What they they think would happen is it would rein him in to get in line to do the project that he is supposed to do for their label, and that way Baris will be able to fulfill his end of the bargain in making sure that he fulfills his contract. They don't move on it at the time he offers it as a solution, he's like no, he's like I got to handle, I know where he is. He pretends to kind of dust it off, and then he he's like we got to find Bosco. And that's when Aria kind of steps in.
Speaker 1:Also, by this time Aria go find Lenox. She unbended me and they say I'm sorry and Lenox, take our back. So we're going to skip to that. Why that's important. And at the same time, vita tired of Laurent. She has to say to the left, to the left, and Laurent, you know, mr Techieback was just like am I ready?
Speaker 2:Techieback.
Speaker 1:Mr Techieback. If you don't know what that is, that is a Shabarang song. And Mr Techieback said well, if you don't want me to be here, you cannot perform none of these songs, none of the songs that we produced, and you cannot use none of my melodies. And she was like yo, I'm gonna perform this at the award show tomorrow. We didn't know for a long time and I said it's just lookalike weasley, like cry, cry, baby moonshine darling, but anyway. So what you see here is both of their lives and what they want to do is just really unraveling in different ways. The family structure that kinda looks semi unified is just very splintered and they're both going through things. And at the end of the day, you know, in the first episode where he was like the one person who's had my back and he kind of did not say mother, you know, aria was the one that kinda said like maybe to Lennox, she says that that girl needs her brother right, and her brother needs her, but not in the same way, because he now realizes that he's just been very dependent on her. And so they're just kinda having this moment of figuring out what to do. She have to figure out which song she's gonna perform, like Missa Techiback said, in camp, or perform tonight, and so she have to or it would try and write a song. And she sent us. She sent something to Basko and she's like I hope you can hear this, listen to it to give her some feedback on the song. And so at the award show her mom is there, lennox there in a dem klat and buta and everything ready for the award show, and you know, she performs this song that she had to put together and whip up last minute, and maybe with the help of Mehmet coming in, or was it something.
Speaker 1:So the big reveal was Mehmet and Basko walking Basko, jainar Pan's stage and they perform the song. Well, she did her part, basko did a rhyme on it and the music producer called Barry Sanca. Well, basko did a Pan's stage with a universal artist or whatever, and Barry Snow, rona and Putani includes, but everyone is happy to see them together and Basko kind of says yo, you did a rhyme. And so Vita for the first time performs champion, the song that Basko is known for, the song that she's written. And after the end of the performance they are going out on a high and this is where the police come and scoop up Basko Basically if I put him in our mental. What a mental whole, what they call it. I can't remember what they call it in the US.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't remember the term, but basically they want to put them in a. They use it. They're using police force again and he still has this PTSD with police and his father thought it was a good idea and he was just like, well, do they have to be so rough? And he was just like, well, what do you, what did you think that they were going to do to get him? He was not going to be willingly walked in to a mental facility and they set up the press to be there at backstage. So essentially they messed up Vita's moment once again. You know he was coming off of this really great performance for the first time, connecting back with his sister, lennox and Aria in a decrode with the new manager, mehmet. They're on the stage, adi GF for the two of them on stage, you know. So it's like a picture perfect evening that Barris was not a part of and you forget the kiss to Mehmet and at the back.
Speaker 1:Tonga, Mehmet and at the back.
Speaker 2:Yes, but that is not important.
Speaker 1:Stop hating on Mehmet. All right, the girl get the guy what she wants. She does the clinging.
Speaker 2:Who have approved that to me, me or Nov, because it might just be the excitement and the adrenaline of the performance make her just excited to see him.
Speaker 1:She does the cling on man, and then she-.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I want to be with Afilarad ever ready. Cling on which one that's, yes, eh.
Speaker 1:Missa, take him back. Popcorn 2.2.
Speaker 2:Popcorn 2.2 for real. But I think it ended on such a great moment that in classic Barris, like if it's Mati never did that, it just got me.
Speaker 1:Let me tell you he was shook by that. But Arya said if you have something to do with this, if Mifinox say you have something to do with this, arya-.
Speaker 2:Yeah, when you say Arya go down, so she just you know what I say? I really think she had it. Like you know, Arya is the sleeping giant, she about-. And then we never even talked about when Lenox boxed up. Mary, you know, we never talked about that, in that it always in a theme or when it used to live, you know, live in a more boxy yet Lenox. Yeah, how am I bridging that?
Speaker 1:Then I shot him on box and then Arya was like, honestly, I never thought he'd have it with him. You never read Lenox's deal, one you know. You never read Lenox's from one year?
Speaker 2:No, Lenox, I'm not sure. Yes, yes.
Speaker 1:Lenox calm and he was like yo. I'm not need for going rough and making notes of me. I'm a man of yard and I'm a bucket of-. I'm a butt broad but piss, piss me.
Speaker 2:Sefe Arya has the same energy too. She's like that quiet, Quiet giant. You know the quiet hearted. Yes, yes, yes.
Speaker 1:Moscow is the Lord hearted.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes, for sure, as as Barry same get it from a mother.
Speaker 1:Lennox is the sleeping giant. Cuz Im just just nice.
Speaker 2:Lennox is the sleeping giant, barry's just yeah, yeah, I, I was. I was shocked. I'm like that's a new level of low. So that's really how the show, the season, ended. So we are left to kind of Either figure out what what happens, allude to what happens, or wait for a season two. And it just had such a great Cliffhanger, if you will. But it also like they ended it in a space where, if you don't get another season, I sincerely hope we get another season, at least one more, but if you don't, you still walk away with this amazing Breath of a story of a Jamaican, british family that is modern and nuanced and Just extremely Great talent all around. I I thoroughly enjoyed the entire series.
Speaker 1:So Listen, I was angry watching at parts of it. Like I said at the beginning, there was just so many emotional aspects of it. Miss a, yes, set something against. Like me, not me, not put my hand palm on right, but let me say that I was ready to fling. Sit now, fire, missy, I was upset with berries. Miss a, yo, you're my father, you do that to me. Yo, listen, make a comment, mother, because guess what you know. Make a comment, mother, brother, them by you because you're my father. So Mickey and the other, but my uncle, them are somebody in Scandinavia.
Speaker 2:Like, that's just the level of like yo, yo, what like even today, villainist characters are berries, laurent, mark and bullet yo.
Speaker 1:Like you, just a bullet, make a couple, put my word, them together. Miss a yo. Your provoking in on my youth. But at the end, when you saw that they were kind of locking him away, there was a look on bullet.
Speaker 2:Yeah, this ain't right. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:So there was this look on his face and he was just like yeah, but bullet my god, jesus, like yo, yeah, I'm not a violent person, but miss a boy. Go sit in a corner some way and let somebody duck tape your mouth, don't move you see, I think he sees Bosco as Steel sharpening, steel type of competition.
Speaker 2:They, they beef with each other. But there's probably a line that was crossed that he kind of sees. He's just like yeah, and and and for him to have that recognition. And he's the one who kind of like, why I got your sister on my song and it definitely reminded me of that like nausea Energy, and then by the end of it it was just like yeah, this is the cool, this is like a little bit much, even for me, because it was like that's crazy.
Speaker 1:I Mean it's. It's a good series. It's one of those series that I would watch again, no question about.
Speaker 2:I'm gonna watch it again. I go watch it again For sure, for sure, sure, for sure, sure.
Speaker 1:So yeah, so I mean just really great performances from all the actors, some very familiar faces that we are excited to see in more Films, not just films around Caribbean or Jamaican culture, but just films period, because they're really good. So I'm just really looking forward to the work and again, like your London Britain, them up, them. That's how bring it with the content level and quality they are just bringing it. I'm super excited and so you know, we've ended champion and we have a lot more shows that we are covering in reals and reading season toll, mckay and wait. So I'm not even gonna give you a little prips. I'll come, you just need to just tune in to the next episode and Follow along. But we want to hear from you, said we, you know, so you can add carry on friends at breadfruit media, or add style and vibes, whether you want to see our you know comment under the post where they promote the episode. That would be even nicer. Nice error is not a word, you know, but we like it right.
Speaker 1:Nickshitter nice or nice error enough To hear what you think about this Series, your thoughts, and you know we just love to hear from you. Micaela and I enjoy each other's company and we are going to quarrel to be it back our fourth. She is team Laurent.
Speaker 2:I'm team Emmett and I'm not team Emmett either, I'm team Vida.
Speaker 1:Yes, so we shall see, but this is.
Speaker 2:Mement would redeem himself in a in a next season. I'm kind of redeem himself by the end, but throughout it did kind of. Yeah, I didn't like Laurent from the beginning, so I just like something does, never did right you know, Like when your spirit said oh, who you? Yes, your spirit, never take him.
Speaker 1:Yes, it's just like mm-hmm, you need to just look like a sneaky in others. Little yeah.
Speaker 2:All right people. Until next time, look for more.
